Since 2007, crane operators in British Columbia have been registering with the BC Association for Crane Safety (BCACS) as the first step in a process that will see each one assessed and certified. As an employer, you play a significant role in ensuring the health and safety of your employees.
The BCACS website will provide you with the resources to assist you in understanding the process and the industry-defined standards for all crane types. In addition, the website will explain the process of having your employees registered, trained, assessed and certified. Check out the online forms, logbook and links to materials that will help your operators to prepare.
To date, the feedback we have received at the BCACS indicates that employers are already benefiting from having certified operators. Clients are routinely inquiring about the status of operators and opting for those who have already received their certification. The bottom line is that certification can improve your bottom line.
